The seeds for the Sri Swami Madhavananda World Peace Council : Project for Reconciliation - Journey for Peace and Friendship Honouring the Ancient Culture and Living Wisdom of the Aboriginal Peoples of Australia 17-27 April 2011 were sown by Paramahans Swami Maheshwarananda in April 1995 more than 15 years ago in Queensland, Australia.
The Journey began when a gift of sacred ceremonial music sticks was delivered by hand to Swamiji in Auckland on 19 March 2011 on behalf of Tribal Elders and Traditional Owners from Central Australia. This was a traditional presentation and Welcome to Country and invitation for Swamiji to sit with the peoples from desert communities and bring his message of World Peace and Reconciliation for everyone to live together in harmony.

The international conference on "Youth and Ethics Education" organised by the Sri Swami Madhavananda World Peace Council and the Youth Union of Yoga in Daily Life started on Friday evening, 3rd Dec. 2010, with a "Colourful Concert" , a cultural programme that reflected different streams of contemporary and traditional spiritual music.
Opening addresses were delivered by Ing. Roman Fuksa, president of the Yoga In Daily Life Society in Prague, and Ing. Marie Kousalíková, director of the Department of Schools, City of Prague, who greeted the conference and welcomed all participants to Prague.

Today on a cold but bright winter day in Novi Sad, Serbia, Europe, His Holiness Vishwaguruji planted his 50th World Peace Tree in the park of an orphanage village in the city of Novi Sad. He was officially greeted and introduced as one of the greatest humanitarian workers in Europe and worldwide by Mr. Vladimir Kopici, the Deputy Mayor of Novi Sad, and other officials from the City Council and the Assembly of Novi Sad. Hundreds of children as well as delegates and guests from several countries followed the ceremony.

His Holiness Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda, together with the representative from the Indian Embassy Mr Naveen Saxena and Ms Danica Becanovic, Deputy of the Ministry of Environment planted a World Peace Tree on Friday, 26th November, in a beautiful park near river Sava in Belgrade, capital of Serbia, by the Statue of Mahatma Gandhiji.
Paramhans Swami Maheswarananda emphasized that the peace tree will not be just a symbol of peace and Mahatma Gandhiji's birthday but also a powerful reminder of Non–Violence Day as proclaimed by the United Nations.

The one-day-event "Day of Non-Violence for World Peace" that took place on Saturday, October the 2nd on the UN International Day of Peace was the highlight of the yoga retreat organized from September 24 till October 3 in the historical town of Umag, Croatia at the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
Thousands of people from all of Croatia as well as from other European countries and representatives of USA, Australia and India accepted the invitation of the organisers – Sri Swami Madhavananda World Peace Council and The Croatian Association of Yoga in Daily Life – and came to Umag to reinforce the idea of peace, tolerance and non-violence as the only viable future of mankind. Through the web cast participants from more than 200 countries all over the world have joined the event.
The event consisted of three parts: dialogues on world peace (10:00am-12:00pm), planting of a World Peace Tree (centre of Umag, 12:30-1:30pm), a World Peace Prayer and candle lightening at the seashore and evening thoughts on peace (6:30-9:30pm).

In ex-Soviet Union, Cherkassy, city of Ukraine, H. H. Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwaranandaji was officially invited by the Mayor of Cherkassy to plant a Peace Tree in the city park. On the occasion of Swamiji's visit to the town, on Sept. 18, they planted an oak tree that can grow old up to 1000 years.

Ljubljana, Slovenia, 20th June 2010. Today H.H. Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Sri Swami Maheshwarananda concluded a week long visit to Slovenia. During his peace-tour throughout Austria, Slovenia and Croatia, H.H. Swamiji planted world-peace trees in five cities together with local representatives of government and religions. He held numerous satsangs and lectures on Vedic culture and Yoga for thousands of people.
As the final act of the visit H.H. Swamiji held a public lecture Kumbha Mela – The World's Greatest Spiritual Gathering at the booked out "Cankarjev dom" in Ljubljana, the biggest and most prestigious cultural and conference venue in Slovenia and Croatia. In his opening remarks he explained the name of the venue is derived from the Sanskrit words Shankar Dom, meaning Home of Lord Shiva, a most fitting name for a lecture on the Kumbha Mela.
