INDIAN REPUBLIC DAY 2022
International Conference and Yoga in Daily Life World Peace Prayer
From 21-23 January 2022, a special event took place, organised by Yoga in Daily Life in collaboration with the Embassy of India in the Czech Republic. Initiated by Vishwaguruji Paramhans Swami Maheshwaranandaji, under the auspices and in the presence of the Ambassador of India to the Czech Republic, H.E. Shri Hemant H. Kotalwar, this celebration of the 75th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of India was held in Strilky Ashram, CZ.
With strict observation of Covid regulations, this conference was held in the presence of 100 international delegates and thousands of attendants online via www.swamiji.tv .
The event was opened by a devotional mantra to Sri Ganeshji, sung by a member of the Embassy, and a performance of classical Indian Bharatnatyam dance by Bhakti Devi, a gifted performing artist originally from the Czech Republic.
The conference was moderated by Dr Martin Repko, president of Yoga in Daily Life Czech Republic. He thanked Vishwaguruji for the blessing of his presence in Strilky Ashram, as well as the His Excellency for attending to celebrate this auspicious event.
Vishwaguruji opened the conference with a short welcoming speech and handed over the floor to the Ambassador. His Excellency Kotalwar pointed out the significance of the Indian Constitution for the freedom, self-esteem and self-awareness of the democracy of India and the Indian people.
Then the YIDL Youth Group performed Sanskrit mantras and the Mantra Ananda bhajan band from Prague presented beautiful bhajans (spiritual songs).
Then a practical part followed with young students demonstrating the exercise of Bari Khatu Pranam, and Dr Martin Repko explaining the beneficial and therapeutic effects of this series of asanas on the flexibility of the body and harmony of the mind.
It was a very spiritual event on the occasion of the 75th jubilee of the Republic of India, to celebrate and honour the unique historic political, philosophical, humanitarian and spiritual heritage of India.
Dr. Katherina Sheardova, a neurologist at the Neurological Hospital in Brno, spoke about how Yoga in Daily Life can help us during this pandemic Covid time.
In his closing address, Vishwaguruji once again thanked the Ambassador and all speakers, presenters and performers. He announced that it is planned to build a Shiva Mandir (temple) in Strilky and asked His Excellency to support this project.
After the conference, a solemn prayer was held by Vishwaguruji, the Ambassador and the YIDL community - and also be broadcast worldwide - for peace, health and well-being of all humans and all creatures throughout the world.
